From personal experience, we know that LVT is warmer underfoot than laminate flooring.
LVT tends to be more durable and will often come with a longer warranty on the product than a laminate flooring.
LVT is waterproof whereas, most laminate floors are not waterproof. There are some of the more premium laminate flooring ranges, which are available to us, that offer an amazing resistance to damage.
In terms of cost, Laminate flooring will generally be the cheaper option when you factor in the flooring cost and the installation cost.
LVT can appear more realistic than Laminate. In our experience when you choose a standard LVT floor there is often more variety within the design / colour way you choose than a standard laminate floor range does.
A full stick down LVT can installed to the skirting boards and walls. This means you do not need a beading or to remove your skirting boards to cover an expansion gap like you would need to do with a laminate floor or click LVT

Click LVT is a Luxury vinyl tile with an inbuilt interlocking system. It is thicker than a normal stick down LVT, typically 4mm - 6mm thick. Click LVT flooring is designed to be a free floating floor, so it is not stuck down. Click LVT must be fitted with an expansion gap and will require beading around the edges of the room or your skirting boards taking off and then require refitting or new skirting boards being installed. Click LVT tend to only be available in either straight plank, herringbone or tile effect and it is generally not possible to install border or motif deisgn with this type of flooring.
No, we do not sell or install click LVT flooring
Yes you can. Most, if not all, Luxury Vinyl Tile floors are suitable for use over underfloor heating provided the temperature at the floor does not exceed 27 degrees celsius. The flooring should be professionally installed and the fitter must use the correct adhesives and screeds.
The best advice we can give is to follow manufacturers guidelines. Their typical advice will normally contain be the following
The short answer is no, LVT flooring needs to stuck to a floor which is dry, sound and free from movement. Any other floor covering below might be moving or worse could possibly cover up a situation where the subfloor is not dry, sound or free from movement. Fitting over the top of an existing floor covering could lead to premature failure of your new LVT flooring.
Absolutely! Repairs can be the changing of a single plank to all the way up to a wide area. The only issue may be that the new planks you replace the old floor with will not always be the exact same colour as your existing flooring, even if they are from the same batch. We often leave spare tiles for our customers after we have installed their flooring for future use just in case you need to change plank or two!
You are spending a lot of money on your new flooring, so you want to ensure your LVT is installed accurately and fits correctly around the perimeter of your room. Accurate fitting greatly enhances the appearance of your flooring. LVT floors are heavily dependant on the subfloor preparation, poor prep will give poor results. A professional installation will ensure your subfloor is smooth and ready to receive your LVT flooring, your subfloor will also be ply boarded or screeded correctly with products that are specially designed for the flooring industry to provide a long lasting surface for your flooring to be stuck to
Depending on sub floor type and size of room an LVT floor could be installed to your room in as little as one day!
Most projects require 2 - 4 days to complete.
